Love this! I have all my old letters and in rereading them, the handwriting was the first thing to hit my heart, and decades simply disappeared. And yes, "Dear." So sweet. Thanks for sharing!
Oh my goodness, I missed this when it posted last month . Thank you so much for including my book among these favorites of yours. I don't know them all and plan to add them to my library. We'll have to compare epistolary bookshelves sometimes. Thanks for all you do to promote the art and craft of letter writing.
My pleasure! Am loving this letter writing journey and the company I'm discovering. I have on my future posts the idea to write about stamps (had a different take), but I for sure will link to your post. Love it!!
When we graduated, my high school boyfriend joined the Marine Corp and I went off to university. Neither of us had any money for phone calls--he would "borrow" quarters from his friends at 29 Palms to drop into the pay phone every Sunday and we'd talk until the time quarters ran out. But we wrote letters. Lordy, did we write us some letters. Every day. Full of nothing and full of everything. Those were the sweet days. When you knew the handwriting of everyone you loved and you started every written communication with the word "Dear".
Love letters to books, yes, yes, YES! I'm buying the children's books for our volunteer-run library at the top of the world in Ester, Alaska. https://www.facebook.com/EsterLibrary Also, I am sending copies to my grandnieces and nephews. 💖📫📚
